Our patented technology saves lives in the healthcare sector

UV Clinical
UVC technology for reduction of microorganisms in medical tubing
Our disinfection device is based on emerging UVC LED (Ultraviolet-C light – Light Emitting Diodes) technology and a patented light guide used to transmit and distribute the UVC light in the lumen of medical tubes such as catheters and endotracheal tubes. UVC light has been used for more than 100 years for disinfection of drinking water. UVC disinfection is a physical process where the UVC light modify/destroys the DNA of microbial cells so that cell multiplication is prevented.

"It is recognized that biofilm forms within 24 hours in endotracheal tubes of ventilated patients. Unfortunately, we have no methods to prevent formation of biofilm today. In my opinion a reduction of days in the ventilator could be achieved if biofilm formation was prevented. The product from UV Clinical which consists of a disposable probe and the UVC light source has the potential to prevent the formation of biofilm."
